That's a wrap for filming on Hobbs & Shaw! The official title is Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw, starring Dwayne Johnson as Luke Hobbs and Jason Statham as Deckard Shaw. The Rock is also a producer on the film, and he celebrated the end of filming with a seriously emotional post and then a lighthearted trash-talking one. Here's the earnest video he posted, addressing the crew on set to thank them for making the movie so special:
Hobbs & Shaw filmed some scenes in Samoa, and in the video Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson gave a shoutout to "all our Samoans" in the group. That would include himself, since he also has Samoan ancestry. As he noted, that's part of what makes this film so special to him:
It's more than a movie, it's an opportunity for us to not only grow and expand the franchise, the Fast and Furious franchise, but also showcase a culture that is very important to us here on the island. ... For us to showcase this to the world this summer means so much.
So that was The Rock's beautiful and heartfelt message. On Twitter, he brought out his sassy candy asses side, lovingly mocking Jason Statham with this note:

If only Jason Statham would reply to that "pasty asshole" joke, but nah -- he's not really the type to engage on social media. When the whole alleged feud between Dwayne Johnson and Vin Diesel was playing out during Fast 8, Statham was asked about it, and he said he tried to stay out of any bickering or troubles.
The Rock got into some trouble with one of his Fast and Furious co-stars for making this movie. Tyrese Gibson was unhappy with the Hobbs spinoff because it pushed back production on Fast and Furious 9.
Last we heard, The Rock wasn't expected to be in Fast 9, but maybe that will change now that the film's release date has moved a bit. Hobbs & Shaw is the first spinoff for the franchise, but another one is planned. There's also Fast and Furious 10 coming after Fast 9, and that film is expected to end the franchise.
The Rock recently defended the many movies in the franchise, pointing out that the movies have made $5 billion worldwide so far. He's already in full hype mode for Hobbs & Shaw -- even showing off his own real-life puppy named Hobbs, who co-stars in the movie. The first trailer came out a couple of weeks ago and was a crazy good time.
Hobbs & Shaw co-stars Idris Elba as cyber-genetically enhanced terrorist Brixton Lore, with Vanessa Kirby as MI6 field agent/Deckard's sister Hattie Shaw, and Helen Mirren as their mother Magdalene Shaw. Eiza Gonzalez, Eddie Marsan, and Cliff Curtis also co-star.
