Toy Story 4 Has Screened, Here Are The Early Reactions
Its been nine years since we last saw Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the gang in Toy Story 3, and now theyre finally returning to the big screen later this month in Toy Story 4. The general public still has to wait another two weeks before they can check out the latest Pixar movie, but a group of reporters, critics and other select individuals have caught an early screening of Toy Story 4 and have posted their reactions online, and theyre incredibly positive.
Starting off, CinemaBlends own Jessica Rawden enjoyed Toy Story 4 very much, declaring it as having the most humorous moments of the Toy Story movies.
Toy Story 4 is so much fun and easily the funniest of the four movies. Strongly recommend.
Erik Davis from Fandango noted that in addition to having a lot of funny moments, Toy Story 4 is also packed with emotion, which is par for the course with this franchise.
Toy Story 4 is another fantastic entry in the series & the one installment that feels most like an adventure movie. With themes of hard goodbyes, second chances & finding your way home, its packed w/ big belly laughs, but I also cried harder here than I have for any of the others.
Business Insiders Jason Guerrasio was riding high on Toy Story 4 as well, noting that fans will love new characters like Forky, Ducky and Bunny.
Toy Story 4 is a touching and moving addition to the franchise. BRING THE TISSUES!!! You will fall in love with Forky and Keegan Michael-Key and Jordan Peele steal every scene as these guys.
Alisha Grauso from Atom Tickets also championed Toy Story 4, mentioning that she was an especially big fan of new character Duke Caboom and saying in another tweet that shed like to hang out with him all the time.
Toy Story 4 has an ending as lovely and warm and heartbreaking as Toy Story 3. In between the genuine belly laughs (thanks, Duke Caboom) is a story that has the heart that Pixar is known for. Loved it.
The Toronto Suns Mark Daniell was also a fan of Duke Caboom in Toy Story 4, but mentioned that the movie serves as an excellent conclusion to this saga thats been running since 1995.
Toy Story 4 takes audiences down so many pleasant emotional avenues. Youll laugh, youll think about your own life, reminisce... maybe even shed a tear. It was the perfect extension and ending for the nearly 25-year-old franchise. Duke Caboom deserves his own spinoff.
Finally, Marah Eakin from The AV Club limited her reaction to the return of Bo Peep, who was absent from 2010s Toy Story 3.
Just saw Toy Story 4, and while I cant say everything, I can say this: I didnt realize I missed Bo Peep, but man I guess I did. I like her a lotespecially in 2019.

Set a few years after Andy gave his toys to Bonnie before departing for college, Toy Story 4 sees Woody, Buzz and the gang being surprised to learn that the young girl created a new toy named Forky. When Bonnie and her family go on a road trip, Woody and Forky are separated from everyone else. As Buzz and the others try to get their friends back, Woody and Forky cross paths with Bo Peep and other toys an antique shop, and Bo Peep gives Woody a new outlook on what being a toy is really about.
Along with Tom Hanks, Tim Allen and many more reprising their respective roles in Toy Story 4, the new cast members include Keegan Michael-Key, Jordan Peele, Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks, Tony Hale, Mel Brooks, Betty White, Carl Reiner and Carol Burnett.
